To sit down and write about yourself seems a little challenging to me, but I'm glad I've had this opportunity because it has shown me how much I've grown and what I have accomplished. I challenge anyone reading this to do the same thing. Sit down and write down what you would like to share with the world. We each have a story to tell.
I am Becca the other half of Lash Essential. I am first and foremost a wife and mother to 3 little ones. We try our best as a family to make playing a top priority. As much as I love to get all dressed up, put on my lipstick and strap on stilettos, the place I feel the best is outdoors skiing, rock climbing, backpacking and anything adventurous. I kind of feel like I have the best of both worlds. My love for the beauty industry started 15 years ago when I enrolled in cosmetology school. After graduating the thought of working for someone else never seemed appealing to me. I knew it would be a struggle to be self employed, but with the support of my husband I felt I could do it. I enjoyed doing hair but after 10 years I felt I wanted to learn more. I was searching for what I wanted to add to my services when I stumbled across lash extensions.
At first I thought what is this world coming to...extensions for your eyes!?!?! But I got my first full set and fell in love. It wasn't very popular yet where I lived, so I didn't know if it would be a fad, but I took the leap and dove in full force. It eventually took over my hair business. I am so grateful to have not only a job, but a passion. I started training friends and people that were referred to me and Kourtnie happened to be apart of that. I discussed with Kourt many times about my dream and how to make it a reality but didn't know where to begin. She also had big dreams of her own. Being the sweetheart she is, she offered to help me create a website and get things rolling. I am amazed by her dedication, knowledge and work ethic for this industry, so I decided we needed to do this together. She is really the one that lit the fire and keeps me going. It is very hard to be so sure of yourself and not be afraid to fail, but a new favorite quote of mine is from the book Girl Code comes to mind, "It hurts to get knocked off your pretty pink cloud. But you have to pick your self up by the stilettos, dust yourself off, and keep going. The beauty industry can be scary, but can also be so empowering. I love seeing women help and stand behind each other. We want our company to be somewhere people can come for support and information to help their own lash business grow. I hope you enjoyed leaning a little about me, and if you know of an amazing hike somewhere, let me know. I am always up for an adventure!!
