A good lash set up is the key to working effectively and efficiently. We know what makes up the basics of your working area: eyelash trays, adhesive, lash wands, cleaning tools, tweezers, etc. But what about the extra stuff beyond the basics? I have a few must have items that I always need by my side while lashing.
A GOOD WATER BOTTLE
It is easy to forget to drink water during the day when I don’t have water by my side. I prefer a large bottle with a straw but any way that helps get your ounces in is a must have!
MINTS OR GUM
There is little personal space while lashing so I always keep a stock of mints in my lashing cart so my clients don’t have to know what I ate for lunch. My favorite breath mints for lashing are Listerine strips because they require no chewing or sucking noises for my clients to listen to. Win. Win.
If your anything like me and own too many lip balms, one to keep in your purse, your car, your nightstand, random drawers in the house, and a spare then it’s no surprise I also have a lip balm that lives in my lashing cart.
Any hair tie will do the trick but anytime I wear my hair down to work I immediately regret it. I’m constantly moving my hair out of the way from not only my face but my clients’ faces too and that’s when I decalred the work scrunchie. The work scrunchie never leaves work and I never have to worry about dipping my hair in glue.
Having a phone charger at work is a life saver and probably my most important non-lashing, lashing product. I play music, take payments, and rebook clients from my phone so I have to keep my battery charged! Another good option if your not near a power outlet is a portable power bank.
Having a pen on hand is a trick I’ve learned from experience. I rarely have to write while I’m sitting at my lash table but I do have many clients that use a physical calendar to reschedule their appointments and they need a pen to write in their next lash appointment!
Is it just me, or does anyone else seem to throw lashes while ether removing grown out lashes or ditching fans that didn’t make the cut? I use a new towel under each client’s head but sometimes I have wandering lashes beyond the towel that need to be picked up. I use a lint roller to pick up those lashes and keep my lash bed clean. Plus it’s great for those lashes that end up on us too.
Last but not least, snacks! Sometimes it’s hard to get in an actual lunch break but that doesn’t change the fact that I need food to maintain energy. Having an easy-to-grab snack on hand is the perfect solution. A few of my favorites are granola bars, peanut butter balls, or cheese strings if your lucky to have a fridge near by.
These are my favorite non-lashing products that complete my lash set up. I would love to know, what would you add to the list?
