Beating the Slow Season

Beating the Slow Season

The holidays and the year have come to an end. With changes in the economy and the post holiday lull coming, it is likely that you’ll experience a slow season but you’re not alone! We’ve got some tips for staying busy and beating slow seasons.

“Mini Services”

Think express appointments, spot touch ups, and half services. If you’re having a hard time getting clients on your schedule mini services might be the solution. These are great for current clients that may not want to come in as regularly. You can use this shorter amount of time to fill gaps in the lashes, add only outer lashes for a winged look, or downgrade clients from volume to classic or hybrid.

Pay Per Time

If your clients are expressing budget concerns you can offer shorter appointment times and charge per time. A shorter appointment alternating with regular appointments is a great way to keep clients on a consistent schedule.

Promotions

Promotions, referral programs, special pricing, and limited time offers are a great way to boost clientele. Consider new client/full set discount pricing, punch card systems, rewards for clients who refer new clients, or an overall percentage off for a certain time period.

Add-On Services

If you have schedule gaps to fill add on services can extend appointment times and bring in extra income. Adding on a service to an existing appointment or adding a new service to your menu completely can help fill those gaps. Some services to consider would be lip treatments, waxing, and brow tinting.

Retail

Selling retail is a win win because it brings in money but doesn’t add time to your workload. If your services are experiencing a slow season, put on your best sales face!

Gift Cards

Gift cards take a little extra planning and budgeting but it is a sure fire way to boost money coming in now! Ideally, your clients will return to redeem gift cards once the slow season is over.
